The illustration from Cannactiva’s autumn 2024 collection is a doorway into the world of dreams. In it, multicoloured snakes coil among plants, closed eyes and resting figures, in a fluid landscape where everything transforms. “Surrender to the power of Oniria, and she will grant you her vastness.” The snake, an ancient symbol of renewal, here represents the need to shed your skin, let go of the old and make room for the new. It is an invitation to let go, to stop, to empty yourself… in order to awaken. Àfrica Fanlo, a Fine Arts graduate, is an illustrator with more than two decades of experience, award-winning for her editorial work and recognised for her unique sensitivity. In her latest works, such as this one, she explores the subconscious, silence and transformation, with an aesthetic full of colour, nuance and symbolism.
