Funky Monkey is a strain exclusive to Cannactiva, developed from EU-certified hemp seeds and based on one of the most legendary cannabis strains: Gorilla Glue. A balanced hybrid with an earthy, deep and unmistakable aroma — notes of diesel, wood and glue — with <22% CBD in dense, resinous buds.

Gorilla Glue CBD aroma

If there’s one strain you can recognise with your eyes closed, it’s Gorilla Glue. As soon as you open the bag, there’s an earthy, deep and enveloping aroma that recalls a forest floor after the rain. Up front, notes of diesel and glue — intense, direct, with no subtlety. Wood comes through as the central body, accompanied by a spicy hint and a resinous base that permeates everything.

The Gorilla Glue strain

Gorilla Glue, also known as GG4 or Original Glue, comes from a cross between Chem’s Sister, Sour Dubb and Chocolate Diesel — three potent strains that gave rise to a hybrid with spectacular resin production. That’s exactly where its name comes from: buds so sticky they cling to trimming scissors like glue.

At Cannactiva we grow it in a glass greenhouse with supplementary lighting and biodynamic methods that respect the plant’s natural cycles. Each CBD hemp bud is selected and hand-trimmed, preserving the dense structure and the layer of resin that defines the strain, with all the aromatic intensity of the original genetics.

If you like Funky Monkey, you might also be interested in BLUE GREEN (Gelato), with a resinous, herbal profile, pronounced vegetal notes, a kush base and a slight fruity hint that balances the whole; FËNIX (Fire OG), earthy and sweet, dominated by intense resin and clear kush notes; MELLOW (MAC & Cheese), with soft cheese notes and earthy touches; and LOWRIDER (Gelato Sundae), with kush, resinous and citrus notes, glue/gas hints and a tropical sweetness reminiscent of passion fruit.
