Cannactiva is an online shop selling CBD and hemp derivatives based in Barcelona, founded in 2018 and a leading name in the European market. Behind every blog article there is a multidisciplinary team made up of researchers, healthcare professionals, agronomy engineers, specialist journalists and dietitians who work regularly with the brand.
Under this byline we publish content where it is not appropriate to attribute a single author: aggregated industry news, official brand announcements, product news, legal and regulatory updates, end-of-season round-ups and editorial articles on current affairs. When an article is the work of a specific member of our team, it is signed with their name.
Our articles on science, health and pharmacology are written and/or reviewed in collaboration with professionals with verifiable credentials, including:
Masha Burelo, PhD — researcher with a PhD in neuroscience and cannabinoid pharmacology; Dr Fernando Caudevilla — family doctor and university expert in drug dependencies; Dr Daniela Vergara — evolutionary biologist, researcher at Cornell University and the University of Colorado Boulder; Alberto Sainz, PhD — psychologist with a PhD in cannabinoid psychopharmacology.
In the agronomy and product area we work with Rubén Valenzuela — agronomy engineer, co-founder of Cannabis HUB with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya — and Dani Esteve — agronomy engineer and COO of Cannactiva. In nutrition and phytotherapy, Eli Tropical — dietitian-nutritionist and expert in medicinal plants.
Other contributors include Andrea Rezes — cannabis researcher and trainer; Lukas Hurt — journalist specialising in cannabis in Central Europe; Fero Soriano — journalist and author on the history of cannabis; Eva Federici — physiotherapist and osteopath specialising in gynaecology; and Laura Salas — R&D in CBD skincare.
We work with a clear commitment: to provide rigorous, evidence-based science communication on the Cannabis sativa L. plant and its derivatives. We cite scientific sources whenever possible, distinguish between preclinical and clinical evidence and do not make unsupported therapeutic claims about our products. The CBD and hemp derivatives we sell are not medicines and are intended for external or nutritional use, within the current legal framework.
Cannactiva operates physical shops in Barcelona (Plaça d'Osca, 6) and Madrid (C/ Argumosa, 27), as well as the online shop cannactiva.com. We are members of Cannabis HUB, CannabMed, the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA) and Cluscann, and we are committed to offering products with high quality, verifiable traceability and European regulatory compliance (THC below 0.3%).
This autumn at Cannactiva we talk about letting go: dropping what weighs us down so we can step lightly into the new season. We present ELEN (Northern Lights), a new limited-edition CBD flower from the Artist Series, illustrated by Marcos Navarro, and the seasonal gift: our hemp tea. A fable about a stag, a forest and antlers that grow back with one more branch.

This summer at Cannactiva we’re celebrating the moments we share: playing, chatting and savouring time at an unhurried pace. We’re introducing MIKADO (Girl Scout Cookies), a new limited-edition CBD flower from the Artist Series, illustrated by Jan Barceló, and in summer 2026 we’re giving away our Mikado game with every order. A greeting about how there’s never just one truth: in the end, it all depends on how you look at it.
