This spring’s lovely postcard is full of fresh colours and organic shapes that invite us to bloom from within. FLORA reminds us that sometimes, amid all the noise, the most valuable thing is to fall silent, go deeper and trust.

Looking for water…
The story goes that a family travelled halfway around the world before settling in a fertile valley where they could put down roots. When they arrived, the mother needed water to irrigate her fields and sent her sons to dig a well.
The eldest son, bold and chatty, spent the day caught up in rumours and promises, listening to every neighbour and getting carried away by every new idea. “Here’s the best soil!”, “Over there the water will spring up with no effort at all!” he would say. With so much coming and going, he ended up with countless shallow holes… without finding a single drop.
The youngest son, who was shyer and more reserved, decided not to listen to so many voices or to so much high-flown advice. In the end, spadeful after spadeful and with patience, he found the underground stream.
Trust the path. Keep going to the very end.
Only then, and with a little luck, will the water spring forth 🌱
The illustration comes with an inspiring metaphor: the search for water as a symbol of the inner journey, perseverance and faith that what matters most lies right beneath our feet. Sometimes, so much noise distracts us from what really matters: trusting the process and going deeper.

Meet Mariona Cabassa, the illustrator behind the postcard
Mariona Cabassa was born in 1977 in the vibrant city of Barcelona. Her artistic career began at the Massana Art School and continued with postgraduate studies at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg.
With more than 25 years’ experience in illustration, she has published nearly 100 books and worked on numerous projects including school books, jigsaw puzzles, decorative wall stickers, bags, toys, postcards, posters and wine labels. Alongside this, she has explored disciplines such as painting, drawing, and embroidery on paper and on large pieces of fabric, and since the age of 40, the art of tattooing too.
Mariona has shared her artistic vision and knowledge by teaching at various art schools in Barcelona and running her own workshops. A tireless traveller and photography lover, she finds inspiration in silence, nature and light. She enjoys open spaces, small groups, her morning coffee and a daily swim. Although she has twice tried, without success, to learn to play the cello, she still dreams of giving it another go.
Her work is deeply connected to nature, a bond that stems from her family of gardeners and shows both in her illustrations and in the gardens she has tended over the years.
For Mariona, art and creativity are essential tools to transform the world and fill it with beauty.
