Iceolator has a sweet, citrusy aroma, with grapefruit notes and a resinous base. Because the whole process is carried out cold, its nuances stay intact: a clean, intense and very recognisable aroma.

How Iceolator is made: cold trichome separation

It is a simple process to describe and a hard one to master. Hemp flowers are submerged in ice water: the cold makes the trichomes, the tiny glands where resin builds up, brittle, and they come away with gentle agitation. The water then passes through 73-micron filter mesh, which holds back the resin and separates out leaves and plant matter.

What makes Cannactiva's Iceolator unique

You can't judge the quality of an Iceolator by its label, only by the details of the process. These are the ones that make the difference:

• Only the mature heads: the richest resin is concentrated in the trichomes of the mature flower, whose heads measure between 70 and 120 microns. The 73-micron mesh holds them back and lets plant dust and immature trichomes through.
• Intact trichomes: because it is neither pressed nor heated, every resin head stays whole. That is why its texture starts soft and earthy and, when you work it between your fingers, the trichomes break and release their resin.
• Light colour: the lighter it is, the less chlorophyll and plant matter. It is the sign of a clean separation.
• Cold from start to finish: it is made and stored cold to preserve the aroma it has when it comes out of the ice water.

How to store Iceolator

Like any delicate hash, it is best kept in an airtight, opaque glass jar, in a dark, cool place (between 4 and 15°C) with moderate humidity, away from heat and strong smells. Under these conditions it keeps its aroma for many months.
